Experience the art of illumination
This Winter you’re invited to explore The Heligan Night Garden and to immerse yourselves in an enchanting lantern experience set amidst the atmospheric Lost Gardens. Various dates throughout November, December and January.
After the glowing and generous feedback from our visitors to last year’s event, we have extended the experience for 2022 to include additional dates alongside fresh installations and a new night time route. Explore the woodlands and the Gardens as they are beautifully lit by a variety of installations and lanterns, and discover a breath-taking display of flora and fauna, illuminated within Heligan’s much-loved and iconic locations.
This year, The Lost Gardens are thrilled to once again be working with The Lantern Company, a leading UK outdoor arts organisation, which works locally, nationally and internationally, bringing artists and communities together to create spectacular illuminated installations, ranging from intimate encounters to large-scale mass participatory events.
The Lantern Company’s illuminated installations at Heligan holds up a nocturnal magnifying glass to the often-overlooked wonders and beauty of the natural flora and fauna on our doorstep. From badgers to fungi, bees to butterflies, and a joyful family of cheeky Tamworth pigs, this illuminated seasonal trail creates a treasure-filled space for families and friends to discover these beautiful indigenous species.
Following an extended 1-mile one-way journey around our accessible Gardens, the Heligan team will direct you to discover nature in a celebration of the wildlife that make Heligan their home all year round. Explore at your own pace, stop to take in the smells, toast marshmallows by our stunning fire bowls, be wowed by our glittering oak trees, and enjoy seasonal warming take away refreshments and meals amid a truly festive backdrop for your Winter’s evening.
The Heligan Night Garden will be held at The Lost Gardens of Heligan during various nights in November, December and January.
